MATTHEW WEIL
Matthew launched Vosalus Ventures after fifteen years as a Registered Investment Advisor and Chief Legal Officer for Christopher Weil & Company, Inc. Previous to that, he spent two decades litigating intellectual property matters, principally patents.
Before joining WEIL, Matthew was a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP. He was a past President of the Orange County Patent Law Association and past Director of The Preuss School UC San Diego. He serves on the board of Photometics, Inc. and two other for-profit companies and is a Director for the Patricia & Christopher Weil Family Foundation. He formerly served on the board of Vessix Vascular, Inc., Fresca Medical Inc., and Niveus Medical, Inc.
Matthew has a BA in History and Russian Language from the University of California, Davis, a Masters in Political Science from Columbia University, and a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law and is fluent in Russian. He and his wife live in Carmel Valley and have a college-aged daughter.

Caitlin weil
Caitlin joined her brother, Matthew, to launch Vosalus Ventures in 2023. Previous to VVI, she provided asset and property management services to Christopher Weil & Company, Inc. before taking over Social Media and Collateral for the companies twenty-five entities.
She previously worked for software developer Dantz Development as a Project Manager and as a New Media account manager for Hajjar and Partners, a division of Dentsu Advertising.
She has a Bachelors Degree in Anthropology and English from UC Berkeley. She is married and has two children. Along with her parents and siblings, she is a Director of the Patricia and Christopher Weil Family Foundation.

AMELIA CLAYTON
Amelia comes to Vosalus Ventures after a stint as an AmeriCorps NCCC Team Leader, serving out of Mississippi across the south and eastern United States.
Amelia graduated from McGill University in Montréal, Canada, with a Bachelor of Arts, First Class Honours Linguistics and a Minor in Persian Language. She is a past President for McGill Students for Think Pink and McGill's chapter of PLAN International. She was a summer participant in Amigos de las Americas (Madriz, Nicaragua) and Casas de Luz (Tijuana, Mexico).
She is an avid thrifter and sewer and enjoys spending time in the outdoors with her friends.
Asset Manager
JILL HAYASHI
Jill Hayashi joined VVI in 2024 to provide asset management support for the firm. She holds a California Real Estate license.
Jill was an elementary school teacher in public, charter, and private schools before taking time off to raise her family. She served on the Board of Trustees at Ocean Charter School in Los Angeles and was previously on the Board of Directors at Sanderling Waldorf School. She graduated from Boston University and has a Master’s in Educational Leadership from SDSU.
In 2015, Jill relocated to Solana Beach from Santa Monica. She is married and has two very busy boys.
